TRP under the Talent Visa Program

What is a Russian visa Talent. 

Athletes, scientists, investors, highly qualified specialists, representatives of the cultural sector, and individuals who have contributed to the development of the country’s security and defense capabilities can now apply for a Temporary Residence Permit (TRP) and a Permanent Residence Permit (PRP) under the Talent Visa program without taking a Russian language exam.

 

Presidential Decree No. 883 has entered into force. This program offers a number of advantages to impatriates:

• Obtaining a Temporary Residence Permit (TRP) without a quota.
• The impatriate receives a TRP without having to take a Russian language test.
• The program is valid in all regions of the Russian Federation, so the applicant can choose any region.
• The program allows for immediate issuance of a permanent residence permit, bypassing the temporary residence permit stage.
• The applicant’s close relatives—spouses, children, and parents—are also eligible to participate in the program.
• The program is designed to attract talented foreign specialists, scientists,athletes, and artists who have achieved widespread recognition in their home country and abroad.

Highly sought-after specialists include scientists, engineers, and researchers who have
gained international recognition and possess significant scientific experience. Their work will play an important role in
the development and modernization of Russian industry, medicine, education, as well as the fields of digital
technology and environmental protection;

This category also includes artists and cultural figures who have gained international
recognition and prominence within their professional communities: writers, visual artists, filmmakers,
directors, choreographers, and musicians.

After the competent authorities have completed the recognition procedure for the above-mentioned individuals, the candidate
receives a “talent visa” and, upon arriving in Russia, will have the opportunity within one year to apply for
a Temporary Residence Permit (TRP) or a Permanent Residence Permit (PRP) without taking a Russian language proficiency test.

After obtaining a residence permit, learning Russian, and living in Russia for more than five years, a foreign citizen is 
eligible to obtain Russian citizenship
